About Us
The Roadrunner Review is an online literary journal produced by students at La Sierra University, a Seventh-day Adventist institution. We publish three issues a year.
Our mission is to create a beautiful publishing venue exclusively for student writers and we welcome submissions from around the world. We are interested in work that plunges us into a moment and unravels larger truths. We like to be surprised with language, and we find that wonder can come when ordinary moments are carefully observed. Because the world is a busy place, we aim to give readers short, vivid reading experiences. All of our pieces will be 1000 words or less.
We nominate our writers for industry prizes. Two of our writers have been selected as finalists for Best of the Net and one has been chosen for Best Microfiction and her piece will appear in the 2021 anthology.
Our student editorial team changes with each issue. The table of contents for each issue includes a masthead, where you can see who has been doing the vital work of selecting material for publication and copyediting.
Sari Fordham founded The Roadrunner Review in 2019 and was the editor-in-chief for ISSUES 1-11.
